RESIDENTIAL REFRESH

A client’s cozy, functional vision is realized.

What began as a special request from a residential client turned into multiple design-build projects for their home. The initial task was to create a sleeping nook for the client’s dog. They had this awkward alcove in their bedroom that need a transformation, and the dimensions of the inset space where perfect for what I had in mind. I proposed to create a dark, quiet, safe space for the dog to relax, with the added function of an oak counter top above the nook to match their flooring. I used their dog crate as a point of dimensional reference for us to explore multiple design iterations. They loved the idea of an elegant, flowy curtain to enclose the space. I modeled the iterations in Rhino and used the same software to later create technical shop drawings and install instructions. Next projects for this client will include an oak-drenched bedroom wall lined with storage and integrated lighting and a shelving system for their hallway.
